West Hempstead woman arrested for endangering the welfare of a child

A West Hempstead woman was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child in Franklin Square on Oct. 30.

Nassau police found a 10-month-old boy unattended in the back seat of a car parked behind Lidi on Dogwood Avenue before 3 p.m. Monday. They used a lockout kit to open the door and remove the child form the vehicle.

The infant was evaluated by a police medic when an ambulance arrived/ The child was placed in the custody of a family member.

Amber-Rose Danahy, 25, of Theresa Avenue, West Hempstead, was found responsible for leaving her child unattended and was placed under arrest without incident. She will be arraigned Oct. 31 at Hempstead First District Court.
