West Hempstead’s Rotary Club donates disposable gloves

In response to the growing need of personal protection equipment at hospitals and nursing homes on Long Island, the Central Nassau County Rotary Club aims to support people in need. The club members at their April 16 Zoom meeting agreed to order 10,000 disposable gloves for Rescuing Families in Franklin Square to provide much-needed PPE for first responders and health-care professionals in the hospitals. In addition, the group will donate to group homes and families with developmentally disabled children and adults. The members also agreed to order 50,000 disposable gloves for the INN in Hempstead, which will be used for their staff while they feed the hungry and homeless on Long Island.

The Rotary Club has also created lawn signs for group members to post in front of their homes to remind neighbors to stay in and stay safe, and to thank the essential workers and health-care professionals who are battling the coronavirus.
