The fifth annual Baldwin Relay for Life began the evening of June 8 with a cancer survivor’s dinner and ended at sunrise the following morning. This year’s proceedings featured music, moving words from cancer survivors and purple sashes, like those seen in this photo of caregivers Matthew Lang and Zach Dane. The event raised nearly $55,000 — far exceeding the $40,500 goal set by organizers. “Considering that Baldwin was devastated by Sandy, raising that much was really something,” said MaryAnn Romano, Baldwin Relay for Life’s co-chair.
