A man was arrested in Baldwin after Nassau County police responded to the Sunoco gas station on Grand Avenue for an alleged robbery around 11 p.m. on Nov. 20.

Police said that the man had entered the store, displayed a knife, and demanded money. He left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money before police arrived.

After the subsequent investigation police found Austin Dupuy, 27 of Baldwin, near the gas station, Dupuy “violently resisted arrest,” police said, and then was placed into custody after three knives were recovered.

Further investigation revealed he is allegedly responsible for an attempted robbery in Baldwin on Nov. 7 at the Owik Pic Convenience store on Grand Avenue and alleged grand larceny in Rockville Centre on Nov. 10.

Dupuy was charged with robbery, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny, and resisting arrest. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 21.

Dupuy has pled not guilty to the charges and the court has ordered a temporary order of protection. The case has been adjourned and bail has been set. Dupuy is set to appear in court again on Nov. 25.
