Over the coming months, we will share stories and photos of turn-of-the-century buildings, homes and important village milestones and people. We thought that a good place to start would be to recall how Rockville Centre got its name.

Established in 2000, Churchill’s Pub & Grill has long been a popular icon in Rockville Centre. It changed hands during the summer of 2020. Chef/Owner Maurizio Vendittelli set out to restore Churchill’s to its finest version, while retaining its staff members and warm, friendly atmosphere. That fall, Vendittelli also acquired Winston’s (next door), renaming it Mangia Bene, turning it into an Italian restaurant serving robust pizzas and fresh pastas, to more upscale entrees.
