Rock Rivalry was a memorable experience

Posted

East Rockaway High School’s 75th annual Rock Rivalry was held in March, and I’m so proud of all of the classes this year. Each and every one of them did an amazing job.

Rock Rivalry has given me and my fellow classmates the chance to be a part of something great, and these past six weeks have been an experience of a lifetime. Those weeks included hard work, compromise, new responsibilities, showing creativity, having patience and a lot more.

The greatest thing about Rock Rivalry is how everyone gets to work together. I would have never thought that I would be friends with half of the people I’ve gotten to know through this experience. There were many stressful times that we all faced together, but the way we got through them has made everyone a little bit closer with each other. With every argument there was a joke; with every tear there was a laugh; and with every moment there was a memory created.

As a grade, Rock Rivalry brought us all closer together. I will miss the all-nighters, car pools to our chairman Alycias’ house, diner dinners, Dunkin’ Donuts runs, and the quality time we all spent getting to know one another.

It’s sad to think that in just about three short months, we’ll all be starting a new chapter in our lives. I will deeply miss each one of my old and new friends I have made at East Rockaway High School. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to be growing up with. Although the score sheets weren’t exactly what we seniors wanted, there is nothing about these past six weeks that I would change.
