Woodland Cheerleaders celebrate successful season

Woodland Middle School’s cheerleading team, the Jets, finished off a successful season under the guidance of Coach Stephanie Annunziata.

Along with cheering on the crowd and performing during halftime at seventh and eighth-grade basketball games, the Jets have earned top rankings at recent cheer competitions. They secured first place at the W.T. Clarke High School Cheer Invitational and fourth place at the Freeport High School Invitational.

In addition, squad members Gina Giambald, Mia Scali, Rebecca Silverman, Lauren Stea, Isabella Stein and Kelly Stump demonstrated their musical talents by singing the national anthem prior to the Freeport competition.

The district’s athletic department commended the Jets and Annunziata on a phenomenal season.
