Herricks High School seniors visited the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Nov. 10 to conduct oral history interviews with U.S. military veterans those serving in Iraq all the way back to Vietnam.
Those veterans are, including Ramona Jones, Afghanistan and those in Vietnam Emmanuel Saks, , Gary Glick, Jeff Newman, John Gast, Paul Mundy. Sharran Chambers Murphy and Williedean Moore also attended sharing stories on “Desert Storm” operations in the Gulf War.
Students spoke with the veterans in the museum’s galleries sharing and learning about military service from those who have lived it. The project was part of the schools English class course work, highlighting of first person storytelling and Long Island’s deep ties to aviation and national defense.
