Woman charged after allegedly throwing lit matches, threatening to burn down Valley Stream home during domestic dispute

A 68-year-old woman was arrested following a domestic dispute Monday night in Valley Stream.

According to Nassau County police, the incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. at a Valley Stream residence. Police said Rose Yee, 68, became involved in a verbal argument with a 68-year-old man. During the dispute, she allegedly threw lit matches at the man, threatened to burn the house down and set a clothing item on fire in front of the home.

No injuries were reported.

Police said their investigation determined Yee had violated an active order of protection. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation following her arrest.

Yee was charged with criminal contempt and menacing. She is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
