Bruce Douglas Boehm, known as “Chappy” to his close friends and family — a nickname he’d been given by his co-lifeguards at Nassau Beach, for the way he kicked his feet when he walked, like comedian Charlie Chaplain’s — was killed on Sept. 11, 2001. He was working at the time as a full-time broker at Cantor Fitzgerald, a financial services firm that was housed on the 101st to 105th floors of the World Trade Center’s north tower.

Like many of you, I never gave up hope that the world’s most brutal terrorist would be brought to justice. However, after almost 10 years, it was beginning to become a pipe dream. Imagine my delight when President Obama made his late-night announcement that Osama bin Laden had been killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan.
