ewlett man arrested Jason Shure, 19, of Hewlett was arrested for multiple charges on July 24, officials said. According to detectives, after getting into an argument with two men at the Woodmere Dock, Shure pointed a pellet gun and demanded money from the victims. more

Isaac Zucker, 47, of Westwood Road, Woodmere, a treasurer for Congregation Aish Kodesh also in Woodmere, allegedly stole $600,000 from congregation bank accounts and transferred the money into his own personal bank accounts, police said. more

Five young men were arrested for the alleged assault and robbery of a 22-year-old man and the assault on his 43-year-old father in Lawrence on May 30. more

Attempted Robbery NORTH WOODMERE-Jonathan Cedillos, 16, of Inwood and Osvaldo Bonilla, 19, of Far Rockaway were arrested on Saturday. Cedillos arranged to meet an 18-year-old victim at North Woodmere Park and exchange a SIM card for a cell phone. The two met on Glenridge Avenue and were approached by Bonilla who demanded the victim’s phone. The victim ran and was pulled to the ground by Cedillos. Bonilla then began punching the victim in the face before the two defendants fled the scene without the cell phone. Both defendants are charged with two counts of Attempted Robbery second degree and were arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead. more
